Just tell her you think it's not gonna work anymore. Tell her you're not in love with her anymore. That way, you won't hurt her badly but she will know that you don't want to continue the relationship.
If she wants to stay "just a friend" don't worry, these are just empty words, eventually she'll disappear and you'll never even talk anymore.
