I wanted to post something on idlechan, but when I tried,
it said "wrong veri-code" or something like that.
how can I get around this?

If you've had the window open a long time, refresh the page and see if the vericode has changed.

actually, it would have been my first time posting there,
so I didn't have one already, if that's what you mean.
Would it matter if I didn't have a vericode?

You always have a vericode, even if you still have your posting virginity. The vericode is the funny looking letters next to the "Verification" box that you have to mindlessly copy in order to prove you're not a robot. Since you failed to copy them correctly, you must be a computer program trying to flood the board or something.
