Anyone experience the sony rootkit?

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-27 18:56

just curious as i ripped Coheed and Cambria's album to my 360, some songs have the word "clean" in them, like something was removed. reminded me of a virus scanner. doubt there is anything on there to effect the 360 though.

anyone else try some sony cd's in thier pc?

Just means you bought the edited version of the album. No swear words.

The owner of the domain sony.com, "ChingChong", has, I believe for what must be several months now, been hosting a rootkit on my servers.  It is an illegal, unauthorized verbatim clone of my original, copyrighted, closed source work "BoyWorm69".  Remove it immediately or I will sue you for $100,000/day. Respond to me ASAP.

I remember this rootkit. Sony also bought acid pro music making suite out, and the next version they released...acid pro 5...had that rootkit in it.
I haven't read all of the thread, but if someone hasn't already mentioned, you could start a process with the $SYS$ prefix attached to the process name and it would hide it from task manager.

I have to this day, six years later, only used acid pro 4 since that time because I know it was clean. That software from that point on is dead to me!

I don't buy Sony anymore.  It would be morally wrong.

Some kid I was talking to online was crying about "Anonymous hackers, get a life, stop fucking with the playstation live network fucking geeks".
i told him, they sold the ps3 with the ability to install linux, then remotely removed it. Then tried to get a kid jailed who re-enabled it. Fuck them.

He responded with something along the lines of he could beat any of those hackers in a fight.

Some people.
