I need some help busting vandles

Ok for about the past 4 months some punk kids keep knocking over my stone statues,and broke some of my lawn ornaments. But last week they went to far,they broke my mailbox,and trampled my snow man.

Now see the attacks weren't like days at a time,they strike at unknown times and days.Now I dont want to buy a security camera if I can just bust them what I have. Ive been hiding in a bush, and right now I have my video camera hidden taping the area.

Now I'm asking for any tips. seeing how they trash my yard at unknown times and days. I want to know what I can use lure them into my yard and trash it so I can catch them in the act,or have a fancy rigg up using my Digital camera or cam corder. The only thing I can assue they are school kids,age 8 to 12 and they attack on the walk home from school  around 3:00pm to 6:00PM

If you have any, you might want to ask neighbors if they have seen anything.  They might have noticed some kids hanging around your place.

I do suggest you bring this up with your neighbors, they might know something or even seen them in the act, but couldn't have bothered to let you know about it.

At the risk of being too serious for the Lounge, I suggest talking with your neighbors about the problem.  Maybe one of your neighbors has a security camera that points in the direction of your yard.  I would expect your neighbors to be cooperative, because, after all, the vandals might visit them next.

Actually, what I would do is spraypaint.  Rig the lawn with a spraypaint trap, they get in the range and it'll paint their arms/legs a nice neon red.  If you're on the sadistic side you have a bucket of dry ice and dump it on them (warning, don't breathe in the fumes).  No permament damage but they'll have some first degree burns (if they're wearing clothes).  And if you really want to go for ultimate punishment, make a snowman around a wooden pole with handcuffs.  Use a CO2 spray to knock them out (if you can get in range), then handcuff them to the pole.  Then do nothing.  Make sure you get them in an interesting position for the police to find them in.  Oh yeah, let sit overnight before calling the cops.  Again, don't breathe in the fumes.

Or you can do it the old fashioned way.  Bait the lawn, knock one out with a baseball bat.  Interrogate for the names/homes of the others using a method of your choice (I prefer mild electricution, make sure you use a weak capacitor or a weak current--and don't cross the heart in contacts, place electrodes at the neck or face for maximum effect.)  Then blackmail the kid for all he's worth.  If he rats out buy a bag of coke and plant it in his room and call the cops (again, go for more than 1 kg cut if you can, it becomes a felony offense and he goes to prison for no less than 20 to life).
