Sending a letter to Japan

I need to send a letter to Japan. How many stamps does just a normal letter take to send?

I've sent many packages at the post office, but I figure I'll be able to just send a letter from the outgoing mail dealie. But how many stamps does it require?

But why would I FexEx a letter when I could just take stamps I have at my house and stick it in a mailbox right around the corner from my house?

I think it's 80c or 90c, if you want the official number check usps.gov.  Three stamps should more than do it.

Go to the post office and pay for the letter at the counter.

They do sell international 60 - 80-whatever cent stamps at the post office, so if you plan to send a lot of airmail get a bunch of those.

Call the USPS and ask them. They have a toll free number. Or use their website, which can calculate postage for you, IIRC.

Or just quit fapping to Mahoromatic and get of your lazy ass and go down to the post office. The walk inside from your car will do you good, and if you go at night you won't have to be scared of the big mean yellow thing in the sky that might ruin your perfect complexion.

NM, you can't go at night. I forgot most cities don't have a 24 hour post office, unlike Anchorage. Ours was even open on Xmas.

I spend enough time standing in huge lines at Seattle post offices to send packages. Instead I just dropped the letter into an outgoing mailbox on my way to do other things.

I have a bunch of stamps that aren't getting too much use so I don't mind using one or two more than I need.

If its a normal envelope size you cansend it on airmail for 80 cents. It will take 4-7 days to get there. By the wy just for my information, what city in Japan will you be mailing to.

Anon, as you are in the US just get an Global Priority Mail envelope - they are free in any post office and come in an envelope size and 8x12 size. If you look at www.usps.gov, they are the gray cardboard envelopes with a red stripe on the bottom.

It's a few bucks to send (under $5.00) but they arrive fast, and won't be crumpled / opened / fucked up like normal letters are. Great way to send cash or other items that nosy people would look for in a regular envelope.
