This BBS is such a nice christmas gift.
What suprised me the most was that moot sounds so positive and happy on the frontpage. moot really must've wanted to do this for a long time, like he said. I'm happy for him that he finally got to start this megaBBS, and I hope "The Team" and all world4ch'ers will have a merry christmas this year.

Yes, I am sure it fills him with joy to think up these completely original ideas!

Its not original never intended to be orginal. he wanted to be more like 2ch and 2chan.
Now, now, let's not be DQN. This addition to 4chan was a long time coming.

Well, oh well. I like the idea of a message-board apart from the image-boards. Also the layout gives w4ch an more international flair wich I truely enjoy. ^_-

As a former world2channer, I approve of this board and wish it good health in the year to come.

It's true. If you look at the old newsposts on 4chan (index3.php) you'll see I went from extremely excited and happy, to depressed and angry.
It's very nice to see that people are taking kindly and constructively to this new site. I thank you all for that.
Yes, I have read them before, and I understand how you feel, using lots of time and resources on something that doesn't give you anything back (except huge bills and flaming from retards). Hopefully this BBS will become something else that 4chan did.
It is a nice christmas present. As much as I enjoy looking at naked women, it's also nice to have a place to chat about various random subjects without seeing the same 'omg u dont just [verb] into mordoorr!!11' or goatse picture. :P

Capcodes are done differently in this version.

I DON'T "GET" YOUR "JOKES" MAN :(
It's creepy with the post truncated though, it's like he's peeking out from under it.
>>28,12 is funny, since Squeeks didn't even know about world2ch when he started 4-ch. We're all basically copying 2ch here and that's merely a rough description of the process since nothing really compares to 2ch.
In the end, it doesn't matter, really. I just wish Shii would have come up with his own generic name for the 0ch emulation style.
Imitation is the sincerest form of plagiarism, as well.

The point is, it's not an original idea, and you guys should stop being pissed about it.

There are few original ideas out there. Take a look at literature.
If world4ch wasn't such an obvious ripoff of 4-ch nobody would say anything, but it's not difficult to notice that world4ch uses a lot of ideas dug off 4-ch's implementation, as well as suggestions on that board.
moot didn't come up with the idea like he claims. He noticed 4-ch, decided that 4chan would implode soon anyway, so is attempting to move on. And of course it's beneath him to work with sites that already exist.

I love it when people pretend that they know what the fuck they are talking about when they really don't.

Hi. I am >>33's mother and am very sorry for his recent behaviour on the "world4ch". >>33 was abused by his peers as school and developed a mentality of revising history to suit his selfish needs. His teacher told me that he was posting on the world4ch and subsequently...
Anyway, I've been frequenting 4-ch but I'm glad to see world4ch up and kicking. I hope both of these sites live up to all of our expectations. :]

So, what part did I miss then? Why didn't moot do it sooner? Resources? A text BBS doesn't need a large amount of bandwidth, CPU or HD. And the bandwidth is capped to boot. Not to mention 4chan always had very _few_ text boards until iichan decided to try adding some. Care to explain the sudden love for a large number of text boards?
I might be wrong, but frankly the timing makes me think that moot saw what 4-ch was attempting and decided that was the best exit strategy for 4chan. He may have had the idea earlier to try copying 2ch, but he never did a thing with it.
Until someone can show me logs otherwise, I believe that to be the most likely scenario. Occam's razor and all.
Which bring me to my final point: if I'm wrong, why didn't 4chan link to 4-ch? Is this some silly NIH syndrome or ego wankery?
theoretically there is room to grow to 2ch levels(insanely huge)....
if every last english-typing wapanese kiddo in the world found out about the site and started bringing the uniqs up to even 1/100th the 2ch hitrate... it would be valuable property
but oh, lets not get ahead of ourselves so quickly lol
i like it, stop your whining...
u regged a websaite for 19.95 and did some topical phpboard hacking.. sowhat
4chan has the userbase - not u
"12/24/04 @ 4:30AM EDT MERIKURISUMASU" is the hook, lets hope they hit the homepage first and not http://img.4chan.org/b/imgboard.htm directly

WHO CARES.
Everyone tries to make a fight out of things. It happened with 4chan/iichan and now a few people are beginning to treat world4chan/4-ch the same way. There is no reason to add unneeded drama to this. Visit whatever site you want and shut up about it.

"Until someone can show me logs otherwise,"
Sorry, I don't log my AIM conversations, but Moot's been discussing this with me since at least early October.
have you ever heard of world2ch? where do you think a lot of frequent 4chan posters came from? where do you think /dis/ came from? why should it be any surprise that there is a world4ch now?

There wasn't even software worthy of being used until recently.
Until logs show me otherwise I will believe this totally bizarre and made up sequence of facts with no grounding in reality other than my puerile grasp of how these chan boards work.
>>46
Shiichan has been around longer than Kareha even.
The only thing you claim that's "original" that is the same is the fact it uses a sidebar frame.
If you're so opposed to it, leave here and go back there.
