Naturally I am biased in favour of boys learning English. I would make them all learn English: and then I would let the clever ones learn Latin as an honour, and Greek as a treat. But the only thing I would whip them for would be for not knowing English. I would whip them hard for that.

I know both. Latin is cool, but Ancient Greek is much more beautiful.

If you're going to study classics then you need to know both. Latin is traditionally learned first because it is much easier and will get you used to declensions and such.

Started to teach myself Latin, but I am having trouble with the self-pronunciation, especially the Q sounds.
