Pimsleur

Are the Pimsleur courses any good? I mean, I know that they wont get me fluent or anything - but is it worth spending the month - two months for the entire courses or am I better off using a different resource?

Pronunciation is very important to me, but I'm willing to put extra effort in to learning it separately if Pimsleur isn't worth the time.

I'm using Pimsleur Mandarin at the moment, and I think it's alright. It's very boring to listen to but i feel like I'm actually learning stuff. Mandarin also has the advantage of having  a transcript (not official though). Pimsleur can be really annoying when you're learning a language that has no transcript available since you have no idea how things are spelled.
