I'm enrolling en jap & arabic & taking algebra planning to work through math and master two languages
I'm torn though, becasue I feel like I could code a translation device and learn pronunciation dynamically, map sentence structure. But I guess I have to go to school

Problem practice, obviously. But why not just learn it from code structure in the open study of math; the money issue dominate

You'll hear different opinions, but I'm of the belief that classes > self-study, though I guess it depends on the program/teacher. The structure will you keep studying at a regular pace and you'll get practice with peers, you might even make a few friends with similar interests.
I don't know about Arabic, but Japanese doesn't often neatly translate into English. Context can dramatically change a sentence's meaning partly because subjects (I/you/she/that/What I'm searching for/What I want to order) are often omitted if already understood or mentioned in conversation. Plus learning by translation is generally considered a less potent method.
