French learning program

Name: Anonymous 2012-07-21 18:04

Hey, I am trying to learn french by myself with help from the internet.
I have never taken a course in french and I am basically starting from scratch. (a couple of months already)
I am using Rosetta Stone and another website, but I am getting really bored.
I am wondering if anyone knows any good programs especially made for school children, that teach you french, in a playful way, like a video game. When I was young, I learned english with such a program.

Basically I need an easier way of studying, some computer program that is more about fun/gaming/playing because I have no friends that speak french.
Also does anyone have any ideas on better ways to pick up this language? I have started listening to french radio, but it goes too fast, same with french movies. Maybe someone knows good french children cartoons where they speak slowly?

My plan is to move to Montreal city, and keep learning there.
Thanks

I torrented the complete works of Michel Thomas, which I am enjoying (learning French from English). But I haven't actually spoken to any French people yet (don't know any) so I can't comment on how good it really is.

Download yourself Michel Thomas and Pimsleur resources, buy/download Assimil French [it's a book with audio], and get your self a grammar workbook  that will help you learn how to conjugate and form sentences.

Also go to Sharedtalk.com and find a few French speaking people who you can talk to via text, or if you're daring, by voice.

If you follow these steps and keep practicing, you WILL learn Frnech.  However you must follow them and practice or else you are hopeles.

Don't change these.
