Universal Language

Do you think that one day, everyone on earth could speak the same language? With all the recent globalization and cultural mixing, it seems possible that eventually we would all be more similar and eventually speak the same language.

It might not be a preexisting language, but perhaps a hybrid of all the current ones.

It would be very slow and gradual, but I think it could happen eventually.

Thoughts?

It already happened. Everybody understands English.

Haha, No.

There can be a global auxiliary language. English somewhat does this, although this can easily change, and it looks like it might. This used to be several other European languages. USA wasn't always the center of the world. There have been a number of proposed auxiliary language. To raise them globally would require collaboration, namely through governments and leaders. Now how do you propose this happening?

The thought of languages vanishing is flawed in its own sense, as the very thing would be already impossible. Look at Spanish, French, Italian, and more. They all came from Latin, didn't they? Are they that far apart? We still have this kind of separation today. Look at the poverty in this world. Even the Internet, media, and more are vastly separated. Do you think that you can get %100 of the world population on the same page? Just look at English separation.

Do you think that multiple languages existing is wrong? I'm rooting for the global auxiliary language.

Maybe not in the past, but it could happen now that almost everyone has TV, radio, internet, etc.

Don't change these.
