Hiragana and katakana

Name: Anonymous 2011-05-11 0:24

Hey anon

i've only just managed to commit the Hiragana 'alphabet', and now i'm face with starting the whole process over with katakana.

This seems arbitrary that anybody on earth should have to learn 2-3 different alphabets, but alright.

Does anyone study Japanese? How do you remember all this stuff? Do you forget things at times? How did you personally learn katakana?

Thanks for your time, and no I'm not a weeaboo I have to actually pass this stuff.

Seriously?
Hiragana and Katakana are dead easy.
Should take like a week at most to learn them.
If you're having trouble with this, might as well give up on Japanese.

Not necessarily. It might just mean that you have difficulty with visual things.

By visual, you mean reading and writing: pretty important parts of any language, I'd say.

You won't. Shut up and memorize it. The more you see it the more you recognize it as what it is. Same with Kanji. Having 3 alphabets seems like a pain in the ass for beginners but the more you learn the more you realize how handy it is considering the amount of synonyms and homonyms in Japanese.
