You'll never get a word that means "hippy" that is of Japanese origin because the word and associated idea simply do not have any origin in Japanese.

変わり者 - an eccentric, off-beat person
自由な精神の持ち主　－ A free-spirit
自由に生きる人　－ Someone who lives freely
マイペースで生きる人　－Someone who lives at their own pace
その汚くて、自然に夢中になっている狂人　－ One of those dirty crazies that is caught up in nature
