What languages to "kinda" learn?

In your opinion, what would be a good spread of ~5 languages to have a smattering of knowledge in, and why?

A "smattering" meaning basic literacy and some simple conversational ability.

This is all just opinion, of course. We all lead different lives and have different reasons for learning.

So it may be wise choice to learn Russian, Finnish and Norwegian. And for contrast learn Korean and Japanese.
