Japanese Help

sup /lang/

I started taking Japanese this semester at my uni, and I have to say, I love it! I love learning new languages!
I am however having trouble memorizing all of the hiragana/katakana and I'm getting quite sick of just writing them over and over.

Does anyone have any good reading material that is light on kanji?
Would be ideal if it contained no kanji whatsoever.

Try some shonen/shoujou manga. They're written mostly in kana, but the kanji have furigana over them (little kana to give you the reading of the kanji).

Yotsuba (lol 4chan) has very little kanji, and furigana over what it does have. But honestly... writing them over and over is the easiest way. That and flash cards. Don't try and learn both at once... go for hiragana first.

I agree with >>4

Before you start reading actual words and sentences, it'll be better to actually memorize the individual sounds and characters.

Don't change these.
