Help, Swedes or Swedish speakers

Name: Slick Denis 2010-09-01 16:29

Hello everyone,

I'm learning Swedish, and I'm collecting recordings of Swedish voices to listen to in order to improve my understanding of Swedish.

If you speak Swedish, I would like to ask you for a favor. Would you go to the Swedish wikipedia, choose any article you like, and record yourself reading some (or all) of it? And then post an mp3 file using mediafire (or some other file host service).

If you could do this, I would be very grateful.

I'm up for it, I hope you don't mind listening to a teenager's voice though :)
I'll record it tomorrow and upload it to Mediafire for you.

I can't decide on what wikipedia page to read. Pick one for me

Thanks very much! A teenager's voice is absolutely fine.
Perhaps this one:
http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4nniska
Or this one:
http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svenska

I think the second one would be the better choice.

Thanks again!

I read the whole Svenska article.
It clocked in on a little more than 45 minutes.
I recorded this today, I apologize in beforehand for any blunders.
Enjoy I guess.

This is incredible. The fact that you've read out the full thing is a great suprise. Wonderful stuff. You have a good voice, too. It sounds mid-range in pitch, and quite cool. This is going to be one heck of an experience to listen to. Thanks very much for all this.

Not OP, But I would also like more voice samples to listen to.

Just use Google translate and click listen. It sure as heck improved my Swedish pronunciation.

Thanks, this is helpful. But still, it's always nice to hear a real live native speaker.

I'm the guy who posted the recording, and I could do another one if you'd like, but do you have anything specific?

Rather than reading out text, it might be interesting to hear you speak for a few minutes about yourself, or what you like, or anything that you wouldn't mind talking about.
I'm suggesting this because I think perhaps the way you speak may be different from the way you read, so it'd be good to have everything covered.

Apart from that, I would really love it if you could read the first post of this page in Swedish. That is, translate it to Swedish on the fly and read it out.

If you don't mind.
I'd understand if you didn't want to.

Thanks very much for all your help.

Listen to "Blå Tåget" and "Cornelis Vreeswijk". Consult either Spotify or YouTube for source.

Don't change these.
