French "Fanslation"

So let me get straight to the point: I was wondering if any French-speakers here would like to get together with me and translate the lovable horror/comedy novel John Dies at the End from English into French. We could set up a forum and collaborate on it if anybody is interested.

I need some native French speakers because, while I do speak French, it's not my first language and quite often the meaning of words in writing can escape me, despite the fact that I am a very good speaker. In addition, the book is 371 pages long, and as one person, I'm not very well equipped to do this by myself.

I bought a copy of the book, but you wouldn't have to buy one if you didn't want to, seeing as how I got a scan of an earlier edition from a torrent. I can upload it somewhere for any collaborators if they want.

Why would you want to translate this into French, as it already is in English?
