Does this make sense?

Ich trauriger war als Deutschland gegen Spanien verloren hat als als England gegen Duetschland verloren hat.

I'm not sure OP, I just started learning a couple of weeks ago. I just thought I'd ask here incase someone didn't see my question in the other thread - does anyone happen to know where I could fine subtitled German videos? (TV shows, news streams, movies, etc.)

I've searched some subtitle sites to try and match movies that have german audio but they always have translations and no original german subs. Transcripts are good too.

Yeah you can just download mainstream hollywood films with a .srt file

http://subscene.com/

Yeah I was hoping it would be that easy but it's been difficult to find a film with German audio that also had a German .srt available. I'll try harder and see what I can find.

It should be "Ich war traurig" and the second part (after als) doesn't make sense.

Also
"Gegen die wand"
"Der Untergang"

Ok, I was trying to say: "I was sadder when germany lost against spain than when England lost against germany"

Thanks guys, I'll go get those. Should have thought of "Lola Rennt" already seeing as I have the English DVD version (which unfortunately doesn't have German audio for some untold reason).

you have bad capitalisation; Trauriger isn't a noun, countries aren't capitalised and wenn isnt used that way

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-17 23:59

It should be "Ich war trauriger als Deutschland gegen Spanien verloren hat als wann England gegen Deutschland verloren hat."

Ich war trauriger als Deutschland gegen Spanien verloren hat als wenn England gegen Deutschland verloren hat.

native german here
however the sentence doesn't sound great but there's not really another way of saying it

Don't change these.
