Languages you've quit studying

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-10 17:14

For me it's Japanese.

Studying it was fun and there are a lot of memories involved that are, should I say, even 懐かしい. However, when I got to an intermediate stage, I had just about had enough. Being associated with animutards wasn't very tempting (to begin with) and the overall uselessness of the language (at least where I live) were some of the biggest contributing factors in the decision to quit.

As luck would have it, lately I've noticed that Japanese has become somewhat easier for me to understand and produce in speech. I'm not studying it actively, but now that it's been a while since I've had anything to do with the language, paradoxically I seem to "get" it more than ever before, which has led me to think about continuing my studies. That, on the other hand, is unwelcome since I'm already studying another language actively.

Frustrating.

What are you studying now?
I guess I'm "quiting" Latin,as I'm dropping it in school next year, but I never learned anything anyway

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-10 22:40

I've stopped studying German. It was pretty fun, but I never got far enough into it to read more than simple books, and I already know a germanic language, right? I do plan to advance further some time.

Your reasoning is pretty lame, OP. Who cares what people think of what language your learning.

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-11 8:26

OP can't be for real. Are you seriously citing what some Americunts on the internet say about the language or the culture as a legitimate reason for giving up your studies? I guess I should have given up English too, seeing as it's the language of camp homosexuals and paedophiles.

Russian. Much more useful than Japanese.

I said that those things

were some of the biggest contributing factors

meaning that there were other major reasons as well (no concrete future plans, lack of motivation, and disillusionment with the "greatness" of Nipponese culture). I should've mentioned those things in the OP as well.

Russian. The only reason I started learning was because I like the way it sounds but, without any other motivation, I kind of fell out of it. Maybe I'll pick it up again one day but no plans as of now.

English. And yes, it's serious - I'm not trolling.
My written English is wonderful, no problem.
However... I simply DO NOT KNOW HOW SHOULD I FUCKING PRONOUNCE MOST OF THE WORDS!

I'm no immigrant. Maybe I'll live in France or Russia, but I'm not going to UK or UK's ex-colonies.

I found out that I pronounce a lot of words incorrectly in my head. I never use my written vocabulary for my spoken vocabulary. Thank god I never actually talk though.

Russian. Because OW. I decided it hurt to much to try to keep up with it. So I moved to an easier language. French. So very easy.

私日本語二年前勉強を始めました
But recently been lacking the energy to learn kanji's.
Spent last summer in Japan. Totally epic.
But it's hard to keep studying a language that only a hand full of other people in your country speak.

Ad hominem fallacy = FAIL.
Try again, newfag.
It was not grammar error, was typo: ChineSE (adjective).

>>29
No, not Japanese balls... Chinese.
Kanji/Han makes no fucking sense in Japanese, they only use it because they give head to Chinese people.

Oh, by the way, it's STILL an ad hominem fallacy, showing that you're too incompetent to attack the argument kernel and demonstrating again that you are a complete FAIL.
