Can anyone help me with this:

なぜ私のほうから
そんな事言ってたらいつまでたっても仲良くなれないじゃないです。

It's from a manga I've been working on translating for a project, but this line has really got me stumped. It's the only one I've really had trouble with. Specifically, the "ほうから" part.
