Learning Japanese at university level

I have a chance to learn Japanese at my university and get Credit Points for it; however only for the first 2 semesters and not for the (optional) second year.

So, 1 year (4 hours/week) or 2 years (the second one would only be 2hrs/week)?

Go for it if you really want to, but make sure you have a lot of your own study time for Japanese during the week, because 4 hrs & 2 hrs a week isn't a good amount of time for retaining Japanese.

You will learn next to nothing in just 2 semesters though.
