"S U M M A R Y
This thesis describes issues relevant to information safety. It includes issues of cyberterrorism, it's definition and subject and up to date study of different methods and different kinds of cyberterrorism attacks with case examples of previously executed attacks of cyber warfare. Cybrtterrorism gained wide public interest at least since 1980s, and the media awareness and public speculations became much more prominent after attacks of September 11th.
Common targets of cyber attacks are believed to be air traffic control systems, banking infrastructure, power plants or water supply infrastructure. Main difference between traditional warfare and cyber warfare is the theater of operation, in later being limited almost exclusively to computer system and networks. It is believed that, such kind of warfare can, with limited financial resources cause harm and disruption key infrastructure and economical systems of target country, assuming high dependency of aforementioned systems from computer technology. Cyber warfare is then by definition inequitable in resources cost, therefore allows attacks of stronger nations by the weaker ones.
Next part of the thesis will describe methods of countering cyber terrorism and effectiveness of such actions."
