Languages on windows

I have the japanese language pack installed on my computer and yet error messages / task bar still comes up as ???? and random signs.

What's up with that?

There is a way to fix this. You can write a little app that will hook into explorer.exe and just replace the Yen symbol. That shouldn't be too hard. Ask the guys in /prog/ maybe they will help you out.
