Foreign Accents

I've been wondering for a while, what kind of stereotypes do Japanese people have about Americans speaking Japanese? For example, in the United States, there is the stereotype that an Asian speaking English cannot pronounce L's or TH's correctly, is there a similar stereotype for Americans speaking japanese?

Oh, and I just heard that many Japanese think pretty much all of us wouldnt be able to learn Japanese - (This is just what I heard from a Japanese grammar book)
