I'm interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese. Can anyone recommend some good resources? I have a Portuguese<->Japanese conversation book but I find myself wanting to learn the grammar a bit more in detail. Any recommendations?

Obrigado!

I'm Brazilian. All I can say to you is that spoken Brazilian Portuguese is way different from written B. P. There are several constructions that are grammatically wrong that get used everyday by people of all social classes, and many others that are grammatically correct that sound too archaic or snob. Informally written Brazilian Portuguese on the internet is never a good option, and blogs are particularly bad, because most Brazilian bloggers feel like they're literary geniuses, mixing formal and informal writting, when they don't really have good enough formal proficiency to attempt that, so you get tricked into thinking you're reading good Portuguese. The most famous Brazilian writter abroad is Paulo Coelho. I've read one of his books, it's very entertaining but the grammar is kinda faulty, I'd say it's the "least worse" option. "Good" Brazilian literature is too artsy and inaccessible. If you don't have a deadline to learn it (no booked flight, etc...), I'd recommend you to learn European Portuguese first, then making the transition to Brazilian Portuguese.
