I'm an expert in most Germanic languages, mainly: German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Faroese and English. I also know some Frysian, Old English, Frankish, Old Norse and have a deep etimologic knowledge.

where does the word "germanic" come from? I thought it came from spearmen (ger=spear iirc), but apparantly this is not correct?
