Arabic script isn't that hard to master once you get used to it.

Mongolian doesn't look much harder.

you don't really leave out all the vowels, like hebrew some consonants can also have vowel values, however while the letter vav can either be o, u or v in arabic, it could be o, u, ü, ö or v in my language, not to mention this particular language being more vowel-rich

so maybe arabic script is fine for arabic, I don't know, but it's a waste of time for virtually everything else.
