I've been recently thinking about learning lojlan, what would you reccomend?
I understand the fact that a very select population speak it and thus I will not be able to frequently communicate with it, I'm just fascincated with the idea of it.
Here is their main website- http://www.lojban.org
And here is an interesting (albiet long winded) discussion http://www.lojban.org/files/why-lojban/whylojb.txt
I have a friend who is also interested in the idea of learning it, we mainly want to learn it to see if it improves communication due to the unambiguity and clear nature of the language;

Sorry, I didn't mean to post then, I hit tab by mistake and it posted. I don't have much else to say anyway so i'll leave it at that.

It sounds good. Have you heard it spoken? I have, its weird. I was interested in learning it myself a long time ago, but German got in the way. I'd say go for it, being a fluent Irish speaker I can safely say there is nothing better than having a secret language for being around strangers. Definitely get a friend to learn it with you.

Those artificially developed languages are pathetic. They will never catch.

Lojban seems interesting enough, but if you're out for meeting ridiculous friends from all around the world and actually getting to use the language, I suggest Esperanto. So many more resources, and I genuinely find it both pleasing to my logical side and aesthetics. I love it to pieces. Totally helped me understand even my native language better.

Ido is just a fucking Esperanto clone. And twice as unpopular.

Ido corrects mistakes made in Esperanto. That's it was friggin MADE for. Esperantofags don't want their time spent learning Esperanto to go to waste so they never talk about Ido, and it seems to have worked.

I suppose it's a moot point for anyone that doesn't fail. Took me only a weekend to pick up Esperanto.

Strange. I thought they were only minor changes? I guess I'll have to read up on this again.
