the first time I saw these topics around, I didn't actually understand what they did, or at least had a different idea going on my head
looking through this again I all a sudden realized what it actually does, and it's a really neat idea. I'm trying grade2 right now and I'll see how it goes
I think I know all the kanji in grade2/1 already though.. but some practice won't hurt *wonders if any of this text will change, maybe least will*

tried it for a bit now, pretty cool, I already know all of those basic kanji though, this script would be fucking amazing though if you could somehow find out what the kanji is by hovering your mouse over it or some other method without looking in the list. Seeing 赤 and not thinking 'red', but 'communist' is probably unlikely and would lead to confusion

rikai-chan does something like that (hovering over a word gives you its reading and english meaning), do you know rikai-chan? a gift from the Japanese moon gods

Just use this script and Rikai-chan. The script will change words into kanji, Rikai-chan will let you see everything you can dream of when you hover your mouse over the kanji. Just google Rikai-chan.

Just a quick question, now that I've started using it (the installation process was a bit weird): Does Greasemonkey hook up to the links you posted and use them, or does it download the files to my HDD so I don't need internet connectivity to use it?

yes, rikai-chan is amazing, but it doesn't always work with this program
in example, 森 can be vegetarian in this script, but rikai-chan will not tell you this. The only way you're going to really find out is if you try opening the script again like you were going to DL, but choose show script source, then mark it as favorites

Huh? It downloads the stuff, just like any firefox add-on. But it won't work unless you're on firefox, so offline won't work unless you're opening a text or something in firefox
Now that I think about it, an easy fix to seeing what they say would be a browser button that could turn the stuff on and off instantly without reloading the page, wouldn't take as much coding I'd imagine

Who made these scripts? Where can I find more? These are in a way too low league for me.

No idea, there also way too easy for me and there probably isn't anymore but you could easily edit them in yourself, just look at the code, you could probably edit in all 2000~ in maybe a few hours. It seems like the person who did part 2 is unrelated anyways, and I prefer that more, because he only used like one word per kanji, rather than a bunch
what is up with seeing 休 being replaced by 'dont' anyways..
if anyone does add a bit more meat to it though, feel free to share =/
