JET Program

Just wondering if 4chan has anyone who was, is, or is hoping to join the JET Program.

Failing that, is anyone employed as a teacher of English as a secondary language? Are you in a predominantly English-speaking country, or not?

I want to know what experiences people have with teaching English as a secondary language. I want to know what are the hardest parts, the most rewarding parts, the surprising parts... What advice or cautionary tales people might have.

More than anything, though, I want to know if there are any other 4channers waiting to hear back on whether they have an interview with the JET Program.

tl;dr: is it can be seriose discussion tiem nao pls

I'd like to visit most of the countries of the world, and maybe teach in a handful of them, but Japan is the only one that sticks out currently as a country I almost feel a need to live in, learn the language, learn the culture. It's hard to explain, but I feel like the Japanese culture is a better 'match' for my personal feelings and beliefs than America ever has been.

I wouldn't turn down a job to teach elsewhere, but no other countries interest me half as much.
