How quickly can you relearn a language?

hi I used to to be fluent in russian, but then completely forgot it due to lack of use once i moved back to my country. what's the best way to relearn a language and how long will it usually take. also will hypnotism work. thank you.

I don't know. All I know is I can't speak a word of it right now! I was a kid when I used to speak it and around 13 I had to go back to my country and stopped speaking Russian because I had noone to speak it to.

My dad lived in USA for along time, 20-30 years ago, he dont speak english anymore. He forgot.

Your brain will get rid of information that you don't consider important. If you neglect your practice for a decade...that means you never cared much for the language in the first place. If the information was of great importance to you, you'd still have an active vocabulary.

Many Hungarians who emigrated during and after the 1956 revolution forgot Hungarian almost absolutely. When they are interviewed now and then it always looks weird to me that someone can forget his mother tongue as an adult this much.
