After a couple of days of typing japanese characters using Microsofts language bar, the tool will cripple itself, losing half of its functionality (making selecting HIRAGANA characters impossible) because Microsoft hates Japan. Searching internet forums I discovered that I'm far from the only one experiencing this, and it happens on a daily basis - no solution is available. Chinese might be different, probably because it might not contain hiragana characters.

Sure: I can call katakana "fragmentary script" too, so you who don't know these "advanced terms" can keep up too. Being all "high-horse" about using hiragana characters is a big tell-tale sign that that stage is considered advanced to you.
