I've tried that page, didn't like it. I'm afraid the only way to learn proper Icelandic is to stay in Iceland for 3-6 months, get some lessons. You can learn grammar and shit online(it's not that hard) but pronunciation is hard and most sites are full of shit, saying that icelandic ð = greek δ(ΝΟΤ true, total bullshit) and stuff.

(I'm anon7) I have that too. It's a decent book but the pronunciation guides are really lacking. Poor use of the IPA too. But the texts are handy, I guess.

I'd rather go for Sanskrit. My university offers a cheap Sanskrit course, I think. I'm taking up Arabic(for free, heh)this autumn.
