Looking to learn a new language

I was torn between learning Arabic and German.

Arabic, I feel, as though I would realistically use more than German, and I don't want to learn a language and then forget it without practicing it.

Could anyone give me advice on which is easier to learn, and recommend me some good software for either languages?


Best thing I've seen so far was a german language pack at bestbuy, came with like 8 CDs. Everything else says "for beggining knowledge of language".

You'll most likely use German more than Arabic if you live anywhere except around Africa.
