Has anyone tried learning more than one romance language, asian language, or slavic language at the same time? For example, Japanese and Korean or Chinese, or Portuguese and French, or Russian and some other language? Does learning more than one at once help get you in a language learning mindset, or just kill you mentally?

I learned English and French at the same time. It doesn't really change anything, no gains and no drawbacks.

Portuguese and French or other latin derived languages simultaneously would be easy, they're very alike

spanish and japanese at the same, no real problems if you're serious (for me, at least 1 hour daily for each language)

It's good for learning vocabulary, but it will mess the grammar up for you, especially when it comes to "Asian languages" who are genetically unrelated.

I'm learning hebrew and arabic at the same time, it does make learning vocabulary a whole lot easier, and being able to link some grammar as well. But a huge advantage... no not really.
