This is the first post of  the Official 4chan Japanese club! We can help each other to learn Japanese! This is the first lesson! ^^

Some simple phrases:
Hello: Konichiwa
Goodbye: Sayonara
Please: Kudasai
Thankyou: Arigato
The: wa (except it is written 'ha' but pronounced 'wa')
Japan: Nihhon
Is: desu (this goes at the end of the sentence)
I: Watashi

Some example sentences:

Hello! I am (the) James!
Konichiwa! Watashi ha James desu!

Thank you, good bye!
Arigato, sayonara!

Japan please!
Nihhon kudasai!

Here, if you came here expecting real lessons on hiragana and katakana, just do a google image search for the table. Teach it to yourself over a day or two. You'll be much happier than bothering with this drivel.
I think >>17 is talking about handakuten and dakuten. I dunno, though.
