Accents in non-mother languages

For those who have learned a new language and are proficient in it: Do you use a particular accent? I mean, if english is your second language, do you use an american accent (if so, is it southern, new yorker, etc)? or an english accent? or mix it all up?

Umm, well I learned quite a bit of Kansai dialect, so when I speak Japanese I tend to use it sometimes.  But I'm sure it just comes of as me being a silly gaijin.
