NEED MORE LETTERS

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-21 23:30

an alphabet consisting of only 26 letters is for the weak and lazy.  we must promote the introduction of abandoned and foreign letters to enhance the English language, before we degrade any more towards a society of OMGLOLZ!!1! devoid of all linguistic merit.

to begin wiþ, all Anonymous should use đe letters 'þorn' and 'eđ' as often as possible.  not only would đeir introduction be visually obvious due to đe frequency đey would be used, providing much-needed advertisement for đe cause, đey would also provide the alphabetical advantage of preventing confusion of words like 'roseþorn' (đe þorn of a rose) wiþ 'rosethorn' (đe horn of some bloke named roset).  functional, aesþetic, and a great conversation starter.

GO FORÞ, ANONYMOUS!  EXPAND ĐE ALPHABET FOR ĐE GOOD OF MANKIND!

first off, the 'th' in 'with' is voiced, so should use eth, not thorn. second, eth is ð, not đ. finally, english spelling has never worked except in the case of webster, and then only in america, so exacerbating the problem.

Voicing the 'th' depends on where you're from. >_>

26 letters in the alphabet has worked since Roman times. We don't need to change!

i meant english spelling reform, lol

which is the other problem with phonetic spelling. didn't matter back then if you wrote things the way you pronounced them, but what about now if you're searching for something on google? are you gonna have to search for the three most popular pronunciations/spellings of that word?

Don't change these.
