most efficient language

always wondered, what language do you multi lingual people think is the most efficient in speech or written?

excluding english

Oh, if you mean to learn... I wouldn't learn Esperanto. That's more a hobby than a language. I dunno, I guess Spanish? German is lexically closer to English than any other language, so maybe German.
