Second Language

For someone who only knows English, what does everyone think is the best supplimentary language to learn. I'm thinking German, since it's used through a lot of Europe (or at least gives one a better chance of communicating with someone from some parts of Europe) and is similar to English.

Bah, learn Spanish, out of all those mentioned its the most widely used, though it takes some getting used to the differences between Mexican and Spain spanish. Overall though its a really easy language to go from English to.

And the argument of "only this country uses it" doesn't really apply, I mean look at Japanese, only one country uses that yet people still learn it anyways. Plus its a fun langauge and the easiest out of the asian ones, at least thats my experience...
