Learning a language FAST

Assume you had to learn a new language (business level proficiency) in about 6 months time. Is it do-able? And what path would you take to achieve it?

I'd say it's possible, but only if you're hard-working and willing to commit yourself.

Ok say I could do those two parts. Would it be better to buy books and tapes, get a college course, find one of those total emersion camps, all three and/or something else?

Depends on whether you're learning Spanish or Chinese, some are harder than others.
