Hello.

Any advice on learning German? I'm going to Germany in october and stay for several months. Right now all the German I know is "guten tag/morgen", "ja/nein" and WWII movie vocabulary (sieg heil and the like).

"Arschloch" is a polite way to address someone who cuts you in line or bumps into you. If you like a girl, you can say, "Deine Fotze stinkt komisch". It means that you find her cute and funny.

Mal ganz abgesehen davon: Ich weiß echt nicht, was ihr immer habt. Ich persönlich kenne keinen einzigen, der irgendwie rechtsextremistisch veranlagt ist. Gut, im Osten sind's ein paar mehr, aber damit verhält es sich, wie mit Bayern -> die Nachbarstaaten dürfen die ruhig haben. ;)

I think the best thing you can do is to actually put an effort into learning A LOT of vocabulary and their CORRECT intonation, so you will be able to recognize them when you hear a German person speaking.
By the way, where will you be going? Northern Germany? Bavaria? It could be A LOT more difficult because the people in Bavaria don't speak actual German.
