What if 4chan (or popular image boards in general) had a report karma feature? Obviously this makes you think of sites like Reddit and it would make a non-anonymous distinction between users, but it would work entirely behind the scenes. Something like this:
1. User reports a post.
2. That post is deleted.
3. His report karma goes up by 1 for reporting a rule-breaking post.
4. From now on, that user's reports carry more weight. For example, the report queue could be ordered by the sum of the karma scores of all the users who reported it.
All this would be little more than a few digits in an SQL database, perhaps even invisible to the moderation staff themselves.
