All generals to the textboards!

There is no good reason why generals shouldn't be relocated to the textboards. They are completely unnecessary on fast moving boards and the purpose of textboards like /games/ and /carcom/ are for long term discussion (not that generals contain on-topic discussion anyway).

This is prime, undeveloped territory for utilization. Use it.

The sad thing is, most people don't even know the text boards exist.

And yeah, your idea is pretty good actually, it would also stop the constant tripfag circlejerking.
