Help a /b/ro figure out how to fucking tripcode. It ain't working for me. Spent the last day running a trip generator to get the ones I wanted, and they won't work.

Which program are you using?
You have to make sure you use Shift-JIS encoding; not ASCII or UTF-8. If you used something like Tripcode Explorer or MTY, I believe they output a log of every matching tripcode. Open it up in Firefox and go to View > Character Encoding > More Encodings > East Asian > Japanese (Shift_JIS). Other Web browsers and some text editors let you do this too.
Make sure you copy and paste _those_ characters. If you want to save them to a separate text file, make sure you then save it with UTF-8 or Shift-JIS encoding. For the record, Shift-JIS characters often contain Japanese characters. e.g. #cラハm+zAt which results in !CyBERSEXXk. Its ASCII/Latin-1 equivalent is something like #c×Êm+zAt which results in !D/WzeXfkX6

Don't change these.
