Adding captcha for reporting makes it harder to try and keep a board free of off topic posts, or in the case of blue boards, porn free. There's never just one, often have of the first two pages of a board need cleaned up.
Now, unless you have a more active janitorial/mod staff, this only penalizes people trying to follow the rules.
Remove it please.

due to tons of abuse. people were botting reports in an attempt to get posts deleted/overwhelm the reports queue. just like with the spam, this is the best way we have of dealing with the issue.

I feel I'm partly to blame for this since I usually reported threads 10-20 times so they would get noticed. What we need are mods who do their jobs (as outlined in the rules and FAQ), and mods who care about boards that aren't 'their' board.

The 4watch extension for Firefox lets you flag posts as spam, and autohides them, AND auto-reports them in a queue, one minute between each report, automatically.
If that's "botting", then fuck reporting threads. Let 4chan die yet again, let another shitty chan take its place for a whole summer, then we can start again, like before.
Also 4watch has an external database that HIDES SHIT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE FLAGGED. Oh shit, distributed thread post filtering!
