I propose that we hijack this thread for the purpose of discussions relating to /jp/ that, for some reason, people don't want to use the regular board for.
Be sure to sage all your posts so the thread doesn't rise to the front page where shitty spambots will go to town on it.

The original post is from well over a year ago. But it was a conveniently empty /jp/-related thread on the back pages (important to avoid spambots.)

I never knew it existed, but apparently it's a board entirely dedicated towards meta-discussion of other boards, which is more or less exactly what I was looking for.
I have always imagined that if I vigilantly patrolled page fifteen, then I could single-handedly keep all the good threads from falling off the board. After a few weeks the entire board would be made of threads that were at the very least non-shitty.
>Another year, another HD failure. Yes, it will get fixed soon. All files are safe, no shitpost left behind.
The server is equipped with RAID, so it should have failed more gracefully, but obviously it didn't and so we're not going to mess around with it much anymore. We'll just make sure we have a current backup and then pass it on to the hoster's support to have the faulty HD replaced.
Also, congrats on the new conspiracy theories. Never go for the simple explanation when you can make up a complicated one.
Krautchan down, this is my refuge for today.
Kalmar gather here.

The idea that we should put waifu on autoban in /jp/, or that it would be super hilarious to ban it on /a/ "for the lulz" are particularly idiotic suggestions.
>>21
What is krautchan /jp/'s culture like, anyway? Is it mostly the same as here?
>>23
Maybe not autoban, but it's a horrible word that should not be used.
I mostly miss kc /int/, 4chan feels so archaic with only 1 pic, no autotranslate, captcha and small thumbnail.
>So it turns out they couldn't get the system to boot anymore after replacing the defective disk, for whatever reason. The only option was to start with a fresh install again, using our backup and whatever could be salvaged from the old disk, if anything. It also took them a while to get this set up because apparently they had an insane amount of tickets that day. Friday the 13th indeed.
Needless to say, the next good news was that nothing could be salvaged from the old disks because they were completely trashed. So getting everything copied onto the server again is going to take a while.
I think this is the third or fourth time in the site's life I'm reinstalling all this shit from scratch because something broke. Running Krautchan is poisonous to hardware.
Also, I don't think you can really start a new life in South America with just 570€. Just saying.
Nooo, call ESC and hockey finals and tell them to cancel until kc back on.

>You are banned! ;_;
>You have been banned from /jp/ for the following reason:
>Flying Flan thread
>Your ban was filed on May 14th, 2011, and expires on May 16th, 2011, which is 2 days from now.
>According to our server, your IP is: 192.168.0.1. The name you were posting with was Anonymous.
>Because of the short length of your ban, you are not permitted to appeal it. Please check back when your ban has expired.
