and is moot really going to throw away the new software with the nice divs?

I believe that the software has been implemented on the rest of the site. I've also found out that it's not really "brand new", it's the same old software, but it received a major update.
A mod on IRC informed me that the consensus to make /adv/ a permanent board or not has yet to be reached. Apparently the mods are about as "in the dark" as we are in regards to the decision making process.

The new software had divs, used drop down menus, and was considerably faster. The image boards moved but are still running the old software.

Perhaps they removed some of that stuff, but I'll bet the underlying PHP code is still there.

As do I. I've been dealing with some heavy stuff lately, and Liked having a board that wasn't troll heaven to get...adv from.

I sincerely agree. It was nice to see something on 4chan that was not the usual bumbling buckets of spam and mediocre humor we all love. It would be nice to be able to talk srs bsn with anons.

I am >>12 and what is /adv/? No, srsly, I did not have internets for the last 6 months. What did /adv/ look like?
As for the board itself, it was basically filled with threads similar to the advice inquiring threads that usually get posted on /r9k/, but with a noticeable decrease of trolling overall, and lack of robot filter. I didn't really participate much in the board beyond the development thread, so I couldn't really tell you beyond that.

I think the imageboards are running on a new backend with the good old shitty HTML. They removed the link to Futallaby in the footer.

I'm sure Thatdog appreciates the change. :-) And Mr VacBob told us that it's the same old software, just heavily upgraded. It does run more smoothly I must say.

Thank you, >>13.
Too bad, /adv/ is gone, though. I would have really appreciated a place like that. Oh well, I'm gonna crap up /r9k/, then.
You probably would have, helped me through some stuff and the threads stayed alive a long time so you could see a few days later how everything worked out for the troubled anon...

Moot on a sticky thread on /b/ said /adv/ is coming back :D!
