4chan frontpage

I am making my own imageboard and wanted to know how I could make a frontpage like 4chan's new frontpage. What I am looking for more precisely is the "latest post" feature. Is there a similar script or add-on I could find somewhere? Currently using Kusaba X by the way.

I suggest learning PHP. There's a script^[1] called Kusaba-2 from Operatorchan^[2] that does something similar, but it's incomplete last I heard.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the use of Kusaba or its derivatives, including Kusaba X, since they're just coded terribly and are inefficient. I personally would use Wakaba^[3], but it doesn't have "features" that you'd probably like: Stickies, etc. Unless you decide to learn Perl and code something like that into Wakaba.

I know PHP is horrible and allows sloppy coding, but maybe he will learn the hard way and realize it is bad just like anything involving Kusaba is bad, and will use Wakaba instead.

All you guys bashing on KusabaX are a bunch of girly fag-queens. At least someone is trying to make it possible to come up with something better than the typical "chan board" with it's trolls, homos, paedos and the like. Go suck dick fags just 'cuse you can't code, don't hate on those who can.

First of all, it's imageboard not "*chan" or "chan". Second, all of the Kusaba continuations have not improved (and have in fact become worse) than the original software they're all based on. I mean, seriously... an imageboard script that's over a megabyte large? That's insanity. I'll bet even 4chan's Yotsuba script is not even that large.

The only decent PHP script currently under development that I know of is Drydock which is based off of the now defunct script, Thorn. However, it still contains all that Something Awful-imported crap like (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST), stickies, etc. I don't mind 4chan having those features, because they're used sparingly. On almost every Kusaba based board I see the feature used way too liberally: three, four stickies at a time, I mean what the fuck?

7chan was the site where the initial idea for Kusaba (then called Trevorchan) came from. Originally they used Wakaba, but they were dying of thirst from not having crap like the previously mentioned "features". So Trevor coded it up for them and setup his own distribution site and the script spread like wildfire AIDS.

Oh, and did I mention 7chan encourages (and even has stickied) "jailbait" threads? If by trying to make "better", you mean "more amplified", then I would agree.

What this all means for you >>9 is that you should just stick to Wakaba.

What I really wish to have it's the original 2ch.net script. I'm afraid it's TOO fucking large, though.

Which one do you mean? www.2ch.net is the large textBBS in Japan, and www.2chan.net is Futaba Channel which is what the imageboards of 4chan are based off of. The script that Futaba Channel uses can be downloaded at http://www.2chan.net/script/
