I need help setting up a message board. I have Ubuntu Server and Apache2 and perl installed but still it doesnt work. Ive got errors like Internal Server Error and 403 Forbidden. Help plz

Also suggest text boards that dont need perl scripts

Welcome to two years ago. Been there, done that

First of all make sure the following are enabled in the apache configuration for the directory. (usually apache.conf or httpd.conf)
Addhandler cgi-script .pl
Options +ExecCGI -indexes

Secoundly, and this is what is usually forgotten:
chmod -R a+x (webdir)/*.pl

(CGI is simple and the conf is harder to fuck up than PHP. Same goes for flatfiles over databases. But yeah, if you feel like you don't have enough trouble on your hands: install mysqld, PHP-libs and kusaba)
